  11. Recently aquired a large hard drive (4gig).  Does anyone out there have
  12. experince using them?  I seem to be having problems which I can't explain.  I
  13. don't know if I should be blaming my hard-drive, my controller, or the
  14. operator!

  16. I have the drive installed, partitioned (three partitions), and formatted.

  20. Partitions appear to be getting "checksum" errors at fairly random times.

  22. The drives came shipped with parity checking.  With it on, the "checksum"
  23. error occurs VERY OFTEN.  After disabling it, things appear to be working
  24. vastley better.  Do I want parity?  Does Fastlane support it?

  26. Can a SCSI-3 drive be used safely on a SCSI-2 controller? (my situation)
