- Recently aquired a large hard drive (4gig). Does anyone out there have
- experince using them? I seem to be having problems which I can't explain. I
- don't know if I should be blaming my hard-drive, my controller, or the
- operator!
-
- I have the drive installed, partitioned (three partitions), and formatted.
-
- Problems?
-
- Partitions appear to be getting "checksum" errors at fairly random times.
-
- The drives came shipped with parity checking. With it on, the "checksum"
- error occurs VERY OFTEN. After disabling it, things appear to be working
- vastley better. Do I want parity? Does Fastlane support it?
-
- Can a SCSI-3 drive be used safely on a SCSI-2 controller? (my situation)
